Yesterday was the 2 month mark and it was crazy to get an email from theknot.com stating 60 days!!!!  Crazy how time fly and it'll be October before I'll know it!  In all honesty, I wish the wedding was this weekend :)  I'm over the planning and wish it was here!

I don't know how most ladies go about the big huge wedding! There are soooo many details to a wedding, its crazy! Things don't go the why you would like!  Or not within a reasonable budget!! AND I feel like we are keeping it simple but afraid something is going to be forgotten!  As long as we get the vows in... everyone, the groom and I have a good time.... get some good food and drinks in us.... we will be happy campers!!! :P

On another note...I had my bacholerette/birthday getaway with my bridemaids this past weekend!  We had a lovely time in Savannah.... shopping, walking, eating (omg the food!), and night time bar hopping :)  Savannah is a beautiful town and a great choice to get away!  Lovely!

Hope everyone is well....see you soon!

and I wish it was next week!!!! Can't wait...having fun planning but I wish it was here already!!!! yea, yea....I know that the days will come faster than they should!  And theres still alot to do.  Hopefully getting the boy to find his suit this weekend....probably gonna have to push his butt out the door to get him out shopping (not his fav activity!).

Since my last post, I have gotten alot done...I have organized the Welcome Happy Hour at Southend Brewery.  Love the idea that I will get as many friends together the evening before to hang out and have a drink with!  Also a great excuse to see Downtown Charleston...love that city!  Don't know if we'll actually get the opportunity to hang out down there, if it wasn't for the get together.

I have also debating and negotiating the cake and pie bar! In the process of purchasing dinnerware and cutlery.  Also organized the Wedding day timeline, hand made BM and my bouquet, corsages, and boutonnieres, and put together center pieces! My fav accomplishment has been finding my wedding boots :)  love them...already worn them a couple times to get them broken in!!! Come on October...I'm ready for ya....

So we are having a BBQ reception! I know to most people, this may not be typical for a wedding and can be messy, but I think of it as fun, casual, pleasing comfort food :) AND we hired one of the best BBQ caterers in Charleston...Jim n Nicks!!!  Ken would stop by their restuarant often as a student.  They are so good....they're recipe for their homemade cole slaw was featured in Bon Appetit!!!  Don't worry...you'll get your chance to try it in October ;) but heres the recipe if you want to attempt on your own....

We got the invitations in the mail yesterday!!!  They turned out soooo nice!!! I was a lil worried because I got an incredible deal on them, but they are perfect for us! Nice, simple, casual!  I wish I could go ahead and send them out :P

Any whoo....been doing alot of research and finalized on some stuff with the wedding this past week!!! Thats what a week stint of cold weather will do to me (doesn't help that we had a great week of awesome weather last week so it made the 40s this week seem unbearable!)

While researching, I came across a different, simple but completely "us" idea to do for the wedding reception!!! I'm completely excited about it and think it will be a nice extra touch :)  but I don't want to ruin the surprise...mostly don't want to ruin it for Ken (i haven't told him!!! its kind of my wedding present for him) but I'll enjoy the surprise also and I'm sure you will too!

I should probably put out a lil warning for those that may be expecting a "traditional" wedding!  Yea...we're doing the ceremony and walking down an aisle but we're really trying to keep it simple, casual, and offbeat!  In the end we wanted to have a celebration with our friends and family.  So most of the theme of our wedding is what makes Ken and me, "us"!  Hopefully in the end, we will create more memories to share and cherish :)

PS...we'll see if Ken actually reads my blogs...hahaha :)

I realized earlier that its 7 months til the wedding!!!! So excited!!!  I ordered the invitations today too! They look so good online...hoping that they will print out just as great! :)  Everything seems to be falling into place though I feel like I maybe forgetting to plan something :/  But everything should fall into place (or as well as they can!) and I have plenty of time to think of anything I may forget!  :D

were sent out this week!  If your reading this, then you probably got one and successfully have navigated around our website! Congrats :)

Anyways I hope that everyone liked the save the dates! We were not to sure if we really wanted to do save dates but being a fairly long distance drive for most, we decided it was appropriate.  Give as much time for those planners in the family to plan! That picture was taking last October when Ken and I were in Charleston and he proposed!

Other than putting together the save the dates and finishing touches on the website, I haven't had much time with wedding planning!  Been busy with moving, unpacking, furniture shopping and enjoying NYC! I'm waiting for my desk to be more productive with the planning :P (at least thats what I'm telling myself!)

Hope everyone is doing well!

Made a quick day trip to Charleston with Dani and Joanne yesterday! This was probably the last and only trip I will have time to get down there, prior the week before the wedding. :/ Got a lot done though! Made a floor plan and checked out a couple of hotels for everyone! The park is so beautiful and can't wait to experience one big hoopla! :) We have a lot of plans for everyone and I hope you'll enjoy everything we put into this!

As a side note... A lil history on Wide Awake Park and plantation:

http://v1.charleston.net/stories/?newsID=15491§ion=localnews

This article is about a plantation house on Wide Awake Park property (before it was established as a park!) that was moved up the road in 2005. This house is now known as Wide Awake Plantation and they host weddings and events too. (They will actually be hosting a wedding the same day as ours so make sure your not a wedding crasher!) The house and the property it now sits on, gets the credit of Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe's wedding (when you google it!) and this venue now books up like hot cakes! BUT at the time of their wedding (1995!!!), the house sat in what is now known as Wide Awake Park!!! Which I would like to say has a lot better landscaping than the other place and we'll be on the waterway of Stono River! :P So in conclusion.... We are getting married were Reese got married! I *heart* her :)

I found the time to start the process of a wedding website!!! (even though I should be packing!!!!) I know this website will be a work in progress as we go along with the planning. But I can confirm that we have the wedding site confirmed and a caterer chosen!!! More than I have time to write about has fallen into place for us and we feel blessed by that. We want this wedding to be memorable for EVERYONE while touching you with lil pieces of what makes us, us! Countdown begins and can't wait to see ya'll at the festivities! :)
