Way back in 1965, in our sophomore year in high school, we dated briefly before breaking up and staying friends as classmates until graduation in 1968. We lost contact with each other, Mary staying in Illinois and Jeff not returning for reunions. When he returned to Rockford in 2004, after encouragement from mutual high school friends, he called Mary and the rest is, as they say, history.
Our wedding will be at Briggs Mansion, 1244 East State Street (aka US Bus 20), Rockford, Illinois 61104 on Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 11 O'Clock in the morning. There will be a brunch buffet reception immediately following and all are invited.
Free parking is available in the lot in front of the mansion, in the Swedish American Hospital lot across State Street or next door in the dialysis building's parking lot.
The Briggs Mansion can be reached from Chicago by taking the NW Tollway west, following the signs to Rockford, and taking the second exit for Rockford identified as the US Bus 20 exit. Travel west on East State Street/US Bus 20 for approximately 6 miles to the mansion on the north side of the street.
The mansion is just after passing a Mobil gas station, over a crest of a hill and immediately across the street from Swedish American Hospital. Take a right into the parking lot and join the festivities of the gathering on the east side porch.
For our guests wishing overnight accommodations in Rockford, we have booked a block of rooms at the Marriott Courtyard Rockford. Reservations may be made by calling (800) 321-2211. Access the discounted room rate by mentioning the "Cibelius-Flodin Wedding." The Marriott has guaranteed our rate for reservations made through May 6th. After that date, rates are subject to room availability.

The Courtyard is just west of Interstate 90 (the Northwest Tollway) on the north side of East State Street (US Business Route 20). To access the hotel, make a right (north) turn onto Bell School Road the first light after using the US Bus 20 exit west from the tollway. Both the Holiday Inn and the Hampton Inn share the same access road.
Guests arriving at O'Hare Airport can take the Van Galder Express Coach (bus) to Rockford in lieu of car rental. The coach leaves the Ground Transportation Center which can be found next to the O'Hare Hilton opposite Terminal 2. Buses leave every hour on the half hour. The trip to Rockford takes one hour, fifteen minutes. Guests should disembark in Rockford at the Holiday Inn (the second stop the coach makes upon entering Rockford.) The Courtyard is an easy 100 yard walk east of the Holiday Inn.
