Bride

Gene had been talking more and more about getting engaged, but after I finished school. I was feeling like I was never going to be finished with school and was completely suprised on Valentines 2013. Gene made us dinner. My favorite - his filet mignon with his special sauce and asparagus. He had brought us flowers and gave me a gift card for a massage and the gave me a funny valentines card. When I gat to the end it said next card. I laughed and asked, "what you couldn't decide". (That is something I would do). He just smiled and handed me a second card. The picture on the front was a couple holding hands and he had drawn an engagement ring on the girls hand. Inside he asked me to be his forever Valentine. Of course, I cried. He also told me I could help pick out my ring. He is truly an Amazing guy and always full of Suprises!!!!

Kim and I have been together for many years.  We had enjoyed my trips together and shared many wonderful experiences.  As the years added up I am sure Kim was wondering if I was ever going to ask the big question.  It all seemed to converge the last couple of years especially when Kim was in nursing school.  I'm sure Kim was expecting me to propose at Christmas but I thought that was too obvious.  So Valentine's day was going to be the day (who knew it would be a surprise!).  I thought about how I was going to ask her.  What better time then after a nice meal.  Being the subtle person I figured I would use pictures to ask the question for me.  The hard part was to not tell Kyle and Amanda until the Chinese New Year party that we hosted two days later so we could announce it to both of our families in person.  I would like to think that everybody was surprised (but happy)!
