Bride

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary, Ryan planned an entire Saturday for us to spend together. We had brunch at the famous Lynn's Paradise Cafe, then I convinced Ryan to look around Molly's Celtic Center with me. Afterwards, we went to Glassworks and each got to blow our own glass pumpkin, while we learned about the art of blowing glass. If you've never done this, it's truly amazing. We had a cozy dinner at Le Gallo Rosso, where we dined with blue and red napkins in honor of the UofL/UK game Ryan gave up watching to celebrate together. After dinner, we went to see a movie.

When we got home close to 11:00pm, I was exhausted from such a great day together. Ryan disappeared and came into the kitchen saying he had one more gift for me. I didn't suspect anything and opened the unassuming blue/green gift bag. Inside was a DVD set of my favorite TV show, which I had just said I wanted. I thanked him and started opening the DVD box, without cue.

As I opened the case, I saw a dark red satin bag on top of one of the DVDs inside and said "What is this...?" I picked it up and when I felt the ring inside I started crying hysterically and hugging him! Ryan managed to get in the question "Will you marry me?" with a huge grin on his face. I never knew how I would react, but I never thought I would start crying like that! I guess I was just overwhelmed with the importance of this moment and how long I had been waiting for it.

With my crying face on his shoulder, I said "Yes, by the way! Thank you!" I'm probably the only person on the planet who has said "Thank you!" to a marriage proposal, but I guess that's just a reflection of our story together!
