Ocean Safaris Kayak Tour After leaving Keauhou Bay (birthplace of Kamehameha the Great) we head south along the cliffs toward Kuamoo Bay. Along this stretch we look for dolphins, manta rays and turtles. There are interesting arches and blow holes along the cliffs. In Kuamoo Bay, we head for a sea cave that often allows us inside to explore its pink walls and aqua Waters. Often times this cave catches ocean swells that makes this stop an exciting highlight of our adventure. Leaving Kuamoo Bay, we follow the coastline, and paddle over coral gardens and underwater lava tubes, till we arrive at the next cave which is almost always calm and cool. This is a dry lava tube above the cave that extends deep into the earth (if you want to go in bring a flashlight).
Now we head to the next cave which sits in a protected, clear, calm cove. We drop anchor here and raft our kayaks together. Ample time is allowed to snorkel the reefs. The tropical fish are abundant, and if you look, you may see: octopus, uhu (parrotfish), yellow tang, butterflies, wrasse, or even a crown of thorns. Exiting the water here, we climb up to a vantage point above the cove where we enjoy our snacks and cold drinks. We may even have wild parrots fly overhead as we eat. Often we walk over to the tide pools to watch the eels hunting A'ama crabs.
From our vantage point above the cove, the water looks clear and tempts many to jump off the 12 to 25 ft. cliffs into the water below. The water is plenty deep and safe. Many scaredy cats even jump off and end up doing the jump many times. Good photo opportunities may include catching mom or the kids jumping off a cliff in Kona!
After a refreshing break of an hour or so, we pack up and head off shore where we hope to ride the trade winds home. Arrival time back in Keauhou is at 12:00 noon (time for lunch and a nap at the beach).

Dinner at Norio's Sushi Bar Master sushi chef Norio Yamamoto brings such an elevated level of experience and quality to the Big Island dining scene that we named the restaurant after him! A favorite among guests, visitors and locals alike, located alongside The Orchid Court breakfast restaurant on the garden level. The 60-seat restaurant features a 12-seat sushi bar and an 18-seat private dining room overlooking a serene koi pond.
Chef Norio's menu reflects a reverence for traditional Japanese delicacies including exceptionally fresh seafood such as sea urchin eggs (uni), Hawaii-raised abalone, octopus (tako), exquisite tempura dishes, sushi, sashimi, hot and cold appetizer selection, plus tantalizing signature items like oyster martinis and daily specials.
Chef Norio doesn't have to go far to get fresh abalone, flounder and other international delicacies for his outstanding sushi menu. Baby Japanese abalone, Atlantic flounder, prawns, Maine lobster and more are farm-raised 20 miles south at the Natural Energy Labs of Hawaii in Kona and Chef Norio finds creative ways to showcase them. He serves the tender baby abalone sashimi-style in its own opalescent shell; the delicate flounder is rolled raw with shiso leaf, sliced into ultra-thin sashimi called usu-zukuri, or served as nigiri-style sushi on a small pillow of perfect sushi rice. Enjoy with a bottle of fine chilled sake...oishi!
Guests can sit at the sushi bar to watch the lively sushi master create and entertain, sit in the main dining room, or choose to be seated in the private dining room to enjoy the Japanese koi pond and garden.
Includes house wine (selection may change), all gratuity and taxes.

Romantic Turndown The couple crosses the threshold of love the instant they open their guest room door. They'll follow a trail of orchid petals leading from the door to their king-sized bed, where the blooms are seductively arranged in a heart shape upon the top sheet.
A bucket of ice-cold champagne and two flutes are within easy reach. Two cotton bath robes are positioned on the bed (easily cast aside), and two pairs of bedroom slippers are placed beside the bed on a slipper mat. The mood is made even sweeter with a plate of luscious, chocolate-dipped Big Island exotic fruit, including papaya, star fruit and pineapple.
A bottle of tropical massage lotion drops sultry hints from the nightstand, and a romantic Hawaiian music CD plays softly in the background. But romance is not limited to the bedroom alone. In the large marble bathroom there are floating candles and an assortment of bath crystals and bath gels line the large bathtub. Cold showers are a thing of the past.
